Prior to Spring 2018, Amiri’s collection was mainly denim, shirts, outerwear, and sweaters all done out of Los Angeles. To take the brand to the next level, Amiri asked us to help develop a tailored sport coat collection made in Italy.

For this project, we sourced luxe silk and woolen fabric from Italian fabric mills, and connected with one of the best tailoring factories in Italy that makes product for other high-end Designer brands.

A base sport coat block was developed with the factory in order to perfect the fit. As style details were added by the design team, we worked with the tailors at the factory to incorporate unique features like a set in scarf along the inside of the jacket. After samples were made for the runway shows and market, we followed the styles to production, working with the Italian production managers to ensure consistency and quality of product.

The tailored category has expanded into tailored outerwear and is now a key category for the brand.
